When’s the last time you checked your cell phone bill to make sure you’re on the best plan? A new company has found that most consumers are paying for mobile services they don’t use. Even Jesse Jones was surprised by what they found on his bill.

Everyone in America hates their phone bill and wishes it was lower. And most everyone in America, too, likes the idea of giving a little money to charity.

Now, one startup is offering a tantalizing combination of the two: A service that, in one fell swoop, lowers the amount of money you fork over to your mobile carrier, and then donates the resultant savings to a microfinancing fund that benefits women entrepreneurs around the world.

It’s an initiative called SaveLoveGive, recently launched by the mobile analytics firm Validas.

But this ensemble by French electro-pop musician Yelle is basically what we wish we wore every single day in winter. At the party launching VERA and the Save. Love. Give campaign, she totally nailed the cold-weather look.

Validas has gone beyond the save portion of the service — adding “love” and “give” features to its site. After suggesting ways you can cut your bill, it offers the opportunity to donate some of that savings to Seven Bar, a nonprofit organization that makes micro loans to women in need.

“Our brand is about doing good now, not later. We built it into the app, so you can give right when you find out how much you are saving,” Todd Dunphy, a co-founder of Validas, told ABC News.

Last night, philanthropists, designers, artists, musicians, and chicsters hit The Ambassadors River View at the United Nations to celebrate the launch of VERA and the SAVE.LOVE.GIVE campaign, with Validas co-founders Tom Pepe and Todd Dunphy, who partnered with Seven Bar Foundation, to empower women through microfinance.
